In 2008, Busatis and the University of Applied Sciences Dresden (Germany) started a series of studies to improve the cutting process of forage harvesters. During tests the grinding effort of forage harvester knives was reduced to one-quarter without increasing the fuel consumption. At the same time, the knife life was extended by 50 percent.
